With a brief to experience and explore directions on how VR therapy technologies are shaping the future of remote mental health support, ProReal was delighted to partner with the University of Surrey in an interactive session to support Digital Mental Health Day.
With COVID-19 high on the agenda, discussions focussed on how mental health support online is more important than ever and how ProReal is uniquely placed to be able to offer an innovative, alternative solution to more traditional types of online consultations.
With digitally enabled health provision an important part of The NHS Long Term Plan, ProReal delivered technology for 30 students to demonstrate how crucial it will be for future clinicians to be ‘digital-ready’.
Feedback from the students was very positive. One student described the session as "brilliant" and another said
"ProReal was really insightful and encouraging. I probably didn't really get the use of tech in mental health until today"
Andrew Jackson (ProReal Ltd Chief Executive) also joined the event and was heartened with the way the students engaged.
"Today was part of our longstanding and ongoing collaboration with the University on the research and practice of digital mental health. We had a great time learning together, and a very open, constructive dialogue about what was possible now and in the future."
